Found these Rims on Ebay...
So i dont know anything about tire sizes, ive been trying to use charts and what not to figure out what do get but im just getting lost.
I want smaller rims so i can get bigger tires if that makes any sense? My stock tires are 245/70/16 The rims im looking at are 15x8 but all the tires i find seem to be for smaller cars like hondas, or over 30 inches. I think the largest possible tire i can get is 30 inches. any help for a noob would be appreciated.

Are you stock or lifted? If stock the biggest you can go I'll say is 30/9.50/ that means 30 inches tall and 9 1/2 inches wide. If you are lifted is up to you how big you want to go depending on your lift. 15x8 is a good size rim for our jeeps cragar soft 8 are nice looking and inexpensive. I hope this helps

I am not sure if this applies to your Jeep, but, generally you can not drop down to a smaller rim diameter. this due to brake/caliper clearance issues.

I think Summitt Racing sells Cragar soft 8s for about $250 on ebay. 15" tires are getting harder to find. Then you could get some treadwrights for around $400.

Not always true but it would suck if he bought them all and they didn't fit. Google around OP and make sure those 15x8's will fit on your WJ. As for tires, stick to 235/75/15 if you don't see much offroad use, if you do then get some 30/9.5/15R, try treadwright, nothing but good things to say about them.

However, you can fit 15" wheels on a WJ.

lots of info here, i always thought bolt pattern was the same for all jeeps? not true i guess. Looks like i should just save for that lift..
Would i be better off getting spacers? i dont go off road a WHOOOOLE lot, but i love the look of the lifted Wj and i want bigger tires! but lifts are a lot more than spacers, and i could always add a lift later right?
