I have a 1993 jeep grand cherokee and i want to install a indash flip out dvd player in it but the problem is the dash sticks out over where it would go...is there any dash kit i can buy to extend where it sits out or is there anything esle i can do???

I've heard of people swapping the a/c unit and the factory stereo to fit? never seen it done though..or maybe build something that extends your deck out a little bit further to make it work. wont be pretty but it might do the trick

I actually did that yesterday....It was a pain in the butt...I mean if there was a easier way I wish someone would have told me because the A/C unit has 22 wires that all need to be extended and the stereo connectors have about 12 wires total ......so..it's a bunch of tedious work but I guess worh it in the long run....the dash insert pretty much hides all the wires ....just be very smart how you tuck the wires in for the stereo because the A/C ducts don't give you much room in the dash.I still need to make somthing to fill in the gaps..but there ya go!!

That looks good CarolinaJeepin! I was really was thinking of doing that but I ended up placing spacers behind my dash kit to extend the dvd out further. It looks ok but not too bad...i will put some pics up soon to show u how it worked out!
