fast idle 2008 grand cherokee hemi
I have a 2008 grand cherokee ltd with hemi. Over the past few months when ever car is started the idle will be around 1200 rpm. Putting car in drive and right back into park idle will go down to normal rpm. This happens EVERY time car is started.
The service quality control person at jeep dealer told me that this is NORMAL. Even telling him car was not like this until a few months ago, did not matter to him. We are original owners and I know I would have noticed this.
Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks Peter Long Island ny

On my '01 xj with the 4.0L it does basically the same thing, I would say this is normal because the engine is starting up, it idles right around 1000 when it first starts then drops and idles at 750.
