Default Engine swap?

I have a 1994 4.0 that I want to put in a 2000 that has the 4.7 in it now. I cant find a thread that outlines that procedure. Will the 4.0 line up with the 4.7 tranny or would that need to be swapped as well? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

No idea, try the Grand Cherokee section. Probably not though.

4.7, You must be talking about a Grand Cherokee??? Like salad said try posting in the GC section, You might get what you are looking for there. Good Luck.

Probably be a lot easier to rebuild the 4.7 or replace it with another 4.7.

The 4.7 and the 4.0L don't share the same bellhousing pattern, and the WJ uses the new clean slate block.. making an earlier 4.0L unable to mount in a WJ.

This is the reason there's so many WJ's available needing engines.

Also, you wouldn't believe the problems you'll have with the electronics!
