Default engine swap

I am having a remanufactured engine dropped in my 02 Laredo 4.0 inline 6. How many hours should it take? It's costing me about 5gs! Half of that is engine. Am I getting bent over in the labor?

That does sound kind of high. Any warranty with the job?

I'm in golden Colorado. It comes with a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty. I don't want to buy another Cherokee cause I've already got lots of work done in this one.

Good warrany and it's still cheaper than buying a new vehicle, just a tad high though.

That's what I Think. I pretty sure he is trying to put on over on me. The core is $900 and he said $600. We'll just see about that.

This photo is from auto md app for 02 grand with 4.0l. Parts I think are cheaper, the DIY price is just engine assembly.

You should not have to pay the core charge as long as the old engine is rebuildable and is sent back to who ever the shop is getting the engine from.

Finally got my jeep back. Now I would like to know "Should I change to a synthetic oil?" My jeep is a daily driver but would synthetic oil increase engine life?

Synth wouldnt hurt. Be alittle more pricey but better in the long run. Make sure to run a good filter with it.
