Engine stumbles under no-load condition
1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 5.2, 150k+ miles, engine misses (STUTTERS) always under no-load situations, engine either cold, or operating temperature, idles smoothly, and plenty of smooth power and speed, I have replaced plugs, properly gapped, used numerous injector cleaners with no improvement. Condition exists whether using cruise control or not. This issue has existed for several months, and through over 10 tanks of gas. HELP!!!
Remove and clean your throttle body. Pay close attention to the IAC and the port it sits in. And as I seen before. Replace the TB gasket. Use TB cleaner. Even if you replace the IAC like I did it will be the best $30 you have spent.
Cleaned TB and IAC with no improvement. Keep in mind, always a smooth idle, only stutters when driving, and reaches a no-load condition (not accelerating nor coasting) and smooths out with only a slightest increase in pedal pressure.
May I suggest checking all of your vacuum lines? A broken or loose vacuum line might cause this. When mine did this the line to the canister behind the bumper on my 97 was broken just past the "T" to the Cruise Control Unit.
