Working on a 05 grand Cherokee 4.7 2wd. Motor bad and I can get a 4.7 out of a 05 dodge ram 4.7 easily. Is there anything different between ram 4.7 and jeep 4.7? I'm thinking direct swap?

I’ve priced 4.7’s in the junkyard before . What priced are you seeing ? If your prices are similar to what I dealt with unless your ride is exceptionally nice I’d probably part it out .

Here's a link to the doubters on that price. Already purchased 2 longblocks from them before.

I’ve been to pick and pull many times . Not where I’d go engine shopping but if you’re willing to take the risk and do the labor that’s a great way to save some money . One of the other techs at my shop buys a project every now and then and is 2 for 2 on swaps so far.

As long as you know how to check and engine in the field for obvious problems, I usually pull from a wrecked car so I know why car is there in first place and so far I successfully have gotten a Hyundai 3.5 and a small block Chevy both success like I said simple checks on a motor go a long way, and since motor was so cheap and u got it out, use the money you saved and refresh the motor while it's out, works for me and really cheap, saves a car that otherwise would have been scrapped

Yea there's plenty of 4.7 rams and 1 4.7 jeep. The ram 4.7 should be direct bolt in correct?
