Default Dual batteries

Ok. So I have a ton of accessories just like everyone else in my jeep. 94 zj. Stock alt. Brand new tho. I was wanting to run dual batteries in it. I know ill need a 200 amp alt. But money can't buy it now. So I was gonna put a 95 amp isolator between the two batteries. My question is will a 95 amp isolator be OK or do I need a bigger amp one? And also when I get my 200 amp alt. Should I take out the isolator or leave it. And with a 200 amp alt. Will it only but out amps. Where I need it? Or will it put 200 amp all the time? I don't wanna Fri anything but I need a alt. That can keep up with my system lights winch ect. Any help thank you guys

The alternator will charge according to the load put on it. An isolator is a good idea, but they will cause a voltage drop and trick the alternator into over charging the batteries. A constant duty solenoid between the batteries would eliminate that problem.

as i remember it alternator amp rating is at peak output, it wont put out 200 at just idle.

i currently have dual batteries with a 136 amp alt and a 120 amp isolator and have had no issues with draw, loss, or overcharging. i should also add i have upgraded my power cables also

All my power and ground cables are upgraded to 4ga. Right now will be putting 2ga later. So that answers all my questions about the alt. Thanks but what about the battery isolator what amp should I get?

It's a solenoid that looks kind of like a Ford starter solenoid.

correct, just dont try using a starter solenoid, they are not meant for constant power and will melt down.

you can also use a marine switch, http://bluewatermarinesvc.com/html/bat_switch.html
