Default delayed start 1995 grand cherokee

Hi. Not sure I'm doing this right but my 1995 grand cherokee takes awhile to start. I have to turn the key on and wait sometimes 5 min. Then you hear a clicking/buzzing sound and you hear the fuel pump spool up. Once this happens the jeep will start. Its a new fuel pump and relay. The jeep started this before i replaced these items. I did the key code and got a 12 . Until you hear the fuel pump the check engine light does not appear. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

Clean the battery connection, starter connection, and ground connection.

i just went through this with my jeep tell it got to the point where it wouldnt start at all and the problem was the ECU i was able to get a rebuilt one on ebay for right around $100. i called the jeep dealership to see about getting it there and they wanted $600 for a new one and $250 to program it. as long as you make sure the numbers match then it shouldn't need to be programed. it is a pretty easy job to take it out and put in the new one in. i found it to be easyer to take the coolant res off to make more room to get at it. the check engine light come on to let you know the ECU is working. hope this helps. i know how much of a problem jeeps can be lol i have had mine for 5 years and after having one thing after another go wrong with it i ended up just rebuilding it from the ground up learning as i went along and relaying on the kindness of others to give me hints as to make it easyer for me. feel free to inbox me if i can help out in any way
