Default death wobble from the rear end

Never seen anybody else complaining of death wobble from the rear anyone know possible places to check. It only happens after i hit a bump in the road...and the bumping never stops. I jacked up my axle on either side and all suspension components seem to be working properly. Any help would be appreciated.

Bad shocks will allow the tires to bounce, I would start there. Are they original?

They came with the 4.5 lift kit that was installed over 70,000 miles ago.

I would be willing to bet that they are shot. But check all of the bushings in the control arms and track bar before spending any cash.

I would check bushing for sure if its up 4.5 and also trac bar for wear. Somthing is loose down there.i wouldnt think shocks would make it wobble maybe float a bit

Ever seen a vehicle with a badly blown shock?

The tires bounce like crazy.

Yes i have had my share of blown out shocks just never had a tire bounce from it.not unless iam doing 50 down a washboard road.but its possible for sure just think its more likely worn bushings. Hope to hear a fix for it soon

I have pulled off my shocks they are not as bad as i thought but i have now found worn out bushings on my upper control arm and i cannot make it move at all. Does anybody know if it is stationary or should it move? By the looks of the mounts it looks like it should have a little travel in it upand down. but im not sure. I jacked up on my axle and the upper control arm picks up on the body immediately. My suspension only compresses an eighth of an inch before the body rises.

Loosen all of the control arm bolts and then tighten them with the weight of the vehicle on the tires. If the control arms were tightened with the axle drooping the bushings will act as torsion springs until they finally fail.

Default Rear death wobble/ axle movement side to side

So I just bought a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ and it has a 6.5 in long arm kit front and rear + 36 is when I drive down the road I can't go over 25 because when I hit any bump the axle shift side to side violently the rear axle? Has anybody heard of this before?
