Dead after being jumped?
Afternoon folks,
I have something I am a bit confused with. Today I had to jump my 01 Wj 4.7 Laredo, the guy helping me put the cables backwards on his side. I pulled them off, corrected it, and got my Wj started. I just parked at work and now I have nothing. No lights, no door chime. I am looking at the wiring diagram, and finding only 1 fusible link. Can anyone point me in a direction that would help?

Well if you needed a jump, then the battery could be completely dead. Remove it, test it or put one in you know is good. Hopefully it's that and not a fried PCM from the reverse polarity.

It ran after the jump so probably the PCM is okay, but I'd guess the battery or alternator is fried.

Turns out Im luckier than that. Nothing got hurt/damaged/fried other than the positive terminal lead clamp got a bit heated and out of shape and was wiggling around. Lopped it off, replaced it last night with a new clamp and Im back in business. Im glad nothing terribly wrong happened. Had that happen with my Buick Riviera once and took me forever to find the fusible link in the starter harness. Thanks tho for the responses.

Not to change the subject, but what happened with your keys situation?

Funny you should ask. One of Anchorages lock smith happens to be my brothers next door neighbor. My brother asked him about what I would need to program keys, and pointed to me to an over seas thing. It finally got to my house, but the river is semi frozen so I wont get to try it till Sunday. Its supposed to be able to do every make and model from 99-2014, comes with about a dozen different cable ends etc. Im pretty stoked to give it a go once I fly back in to Bethel Sunday.
