Crunch rebuild
I bow to the ZJ Masters.. I offer the following: Being a recent add to the ZJ world, I find myself tinkering constantly with the two I have. My next two projects include replacing the ring, pinion, and carrier in my Dana 30 AND refit of a ‘crunched’ front end. The front end is on a ‘98 5.2 and I say crunched because it was a low speed impact with no frame damage. I have a buddy with a ‘99 WJ that he has for parts. My question is: do the inner fenders match up? I know they’re different body styles, and I’m not trying to have a mixed exterior, but could I use the inner of a 99 WJ on my 98? Would all the mounts (outer fender as well as any stock items inside the engine compartment) match or is this a whim? I appreciate any info and look forward to more learning and better wheelin! |
a good rule if diff. body style then will be diff. remove the fender and compare may work but with diff. body style I wouldn't think so.

Welcome to the forum. The ZJ has the first generation, from 93-95 and second generation from 96-98. The usage of a 99 WJ part on a ZJ will be extra work. Save effort and get compatible parts. |
