Crank trigger ring....

Default Crank trigger ring....

Is there a difference from a 93/94 4.0 to a 98 4.0. I know the flywheels are different, I ran into the issue with the bolt holes and only having 3 of them line up.... but right now my jeep is throwing a P1391 code and everything seems to be fine. sensors are tight and they were perfectly fine before i did the swap and didnt get damaged. The crank position sensor on the bellhousing is maybe 10k miles old so i am kinda ruling that out. The cam sensor..... i havent replaced that since i have had it....

So my question is, Is the intermittent Crank/Cam Signal loss a result of the rings on the flywheel being different? is that a possibility?


Can anyone help? again i know the flywheels are different but what about the crank trigger ring?

Your flywheel/flexplate is incorrectly installed. All of the holes will line up but the pattern is not symmetrical.

It's not going to run right until you fix the flywheel/flexplate.

Several people have said they ran their flexplates like this with no issues. I plan to swap them just a damn common sense mistake that shouldnt have happened. Just want it running right
