Crank no start
Okay so i have racked my brain for over 2 months. I have a 1993 Grand cherokee 5.2 V8. It all started when I put a new battery in and was driving it. I backed out of my driveway and it cut off on me. I have no fuel and no spark. I have replaced fuel pump and fuel filter. I have replaced the crank sensor. I still have crank no start. I have tried to shift it through the gears and still nothing. Im about to drag it to field and light it on fire. Any ideas please help. I also can not get it to flash codes on the dash. Any ideas please help

The first thing that I would do is go through all of the fuses and relays. Check every single one, not just the ones that would make sense. On another vehicle I had a blown cigarette lighter fuse, and it turns out that it blew because it was grounding a wire that went to the ignition. I fixed that and the car started right up. Replacing the fuse did not fix it, it blew right away, but it pointed me to the problem and took 5 minutes and a butt splice to fix it.
If you are getting nothing, I can only assume that it is electrical, so I would start there and eliminate possible causes one by one until everything electrical is working. It could also be your ECM. |
With the key on do you have any power to the fuses on the fuse block under the hood?

No fuel and no spark at the same time tells me the ASD relay isn't pulling in. It could be the relay itself or the PCM isn't sending a signal to it. You can check the relay by swapping it with another one, I suggest a headlight relay, to see if it's the relay or something else. Try that and come back.
