You need the PCM for the timing and to fire the injectors. If you carb it and use an MDS ignition you could do without the PCM, but you will only downgrade the engine. Just use a SBC and be done with it and money ahead.

Whats wrong with the PCM? You can set them for turbo about 9000x better than a carb. Or were you gonna inject fuel by hand
