chrysler 8.25 rear diff

Can you put a Chrysler 8.25 rear diff (out of a 2006 Dakota) into a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado easy ?

Model: Grand Cherokee (WJ)

Engine: 4.0L

Can you? Yes. Easily? No.

The big difference is the Dakota uses leaf springs and the WJ uses coils. You'll have to cut all the mounting brackets off the Dakota axle and mount brackets for the jeep. Also, the jeep uses a single point upper control arm mount on top of the differential and how to do that on the Dakota axle could be a problem.

Heck with that.... thanks for info...

PS have you ever hear that pitted spider gears make a whir at any excel speed. high at 50mph. assume its a pinion bearing but didnt feel any play, spiders are pretty pitted. heavy fuzz on magnet . Ever have carriers go and make a noise / whir .

Spider gears will not make any whir sound since going straight they are not moving. The metal that has worn off will trash the bearings and sometimes even the gears so that is what you are hearing.
