alright guys. so i picked up my wifes 93 grand cherokee tonight for 700$. thing is ****ing clean. just needs some random **** like brake work and window motors.
anyways on the little screen it says check oil. i did. to find out it was nasty as **** and ill change it in the am. but are these things known to be faulty?
and other question is it says next service in like blah blah miles. how do you reset it since ill be changing it tomorrow? thanks guys. im not a noob to jeeps but i mostly work on cherokees and we dont have the fancy screen

I have a 93 that does the same thing with the oil warning. No one responded when I asked this question. I think that something is either wrong with the sensor or possibly a ground connection that I have no clue where to find. I have other sensor warning that pop up also but I can clear them with adding fluids or whatever. The other thing that bothers me is information screen will reset on it's own sometimes and I have to reset the time and date. That is why I suspect a ground problem somewhere in the circuit. Sorry I could not offer you a "look at this" to fix the problem.

Yes it's easy to change - but don't end up with it in French or German - as I did. I dropped mine as I do the oil twice yearly anyway (8k a year), hey I live in the UK more than that I'd be going around and around the whole tiny spec on the map.
