Default check engine light. need help please.

I have a 93zj and my check engine light comes on once in a while. It doesn't stay on though, if I shut off the jeep, turn it back on and its back off. I tried getting it read at advance auto and they said they can't read it. My question is, where can I get it read? And when it does come on, the jeep acts like its not getting fuel and bucks on me, or studders. I changed the fuel filter and still does it. It has me so confused... Any help please?

Cycle the key on,off,on,off,on and watch the check engine light, it will blink out a code.

How will know what the code is? Just count the blinks?

Ok so I googled a little bit. I came up with 2 codes I think. 32 and 45. Both make sense because of how my jeep is acting. One is bad air/fuel ratio, and the other is something with the overdrive, which has been acting up as well. I have some sensors to replace I guess. Don't know exactly which sensors though.

Or my codes are 12 and 24. I'm really confused. These codes both make sense too. I'm going to need another opinion on this code. I was just reading more about it and 55 is the end of codes. So I must of been reading it wrong first.

Code 12 is nothing to worry about, it just means battery power was lost at some time. Code 55 means that is the end of the codes, nothing to worry about.

Yeah I read that. 24 is a bad TPS so I'm going to have to replace that I guess. Thank you for your help

Be sure to check the wiring to the TPS for any worn spots or damaged and broken wires.

The on-off method can be tough to figure out at first, google ODB 1 code reading and there are tons of lists of the code meanings and how to count them.

I've checked mine dozens of times now and just get 55, so maybe I'm doing it wrong though lol.
