Changed trans now won't crank! Please help!
I have a 99 grand cherokee lorado that has been a great vehicle until last week when the trans gave out. I bought a used one and replaced it. While pulling the old trans I forgot to unplug crank sensor and broke the wires off inside the connector. The trans I bought came with one already in it so I put it in and just spliced the wires together. While I had it sitting still I changed the spark plugs to and when I got all this back together it will turn over but will not start. I don't know what to do. This is our only means of transportation and I can't afford a mechanic. Pleas help! Thanks

Old fart with a wrench
It sounds to me like you've got an electrical problem at that connector, either one or both sides. You may have even broken a wire inside the harness. Also, the CPS that came with your used trans may not be good. It seems to be standard transmission shop practice to install a new sensor every time a trans is pulled out. It eliminates the "come back" syndrome.
