Change axles, wheels or what?
IM completely new to this stuff. I got me a 99 WJ Limited. Wanted to get 33"s stuffed under it. Went to a local tire dealer who told me that all jeep rims would fit and so would Ranger and Explorer rims. So I bought black Soft Eight Rims and 33" tires. I tried to get the rims stuffed only to find the bolt pattern is different. WJ is a 5 on 5 & a these others that he referred me to are a 5 on 4.5. Now I'm sruck. Any suggestions. Would it be easier to change the front and rearend and is it possible. That way I would have the same bolt patteren as everyone I ride with in case something happened or what. Is there a conversion of any kind to make these wheels fit. Idk? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

the wj and the cj are the same bolt pattern if that helps, but ya your gonna need at least 4 " of lift for 33's and your gunna have to cut metal

i see no harm in adapters. my buddy on his is running some ranger wheels and needed spacers which do the same thing as adapters IMO and has been running 33s with no problems. i wanna say they are 1". if you can get some hub centric ones they are better to have/use.

I think the cj's are 5 on 5.5 like the ford and suzuki not 5 on 5. and if the tire shop is a good shop then you should be able to swap them for the right ones seeing as the saleman told you what you needed he obviously needs more training on wheel bolt patterns. Yes you will need a lift or cut a bunch.
