Can this be towed?
 

Can a 1993 Grand Cherokee 4x4 with AW4 and Quadra-Trac on demand 4wd system be towed behind a motor home by using a tow bar?

Can I just put the TC in neutral and go or is there more that needs to be done?

The manual says to put the transfer case in neutral for towing so, yes you can tow it in neutral.

t case in neutral, transmission in park.

you will likely have to have the jeep running, shift trans in neutral, then shift t case into neutral, then shift trans to park. shut off jeep but leave the key in the first, unlock position so the front wheels can turn (steering).

just so anyone who reads this thread and wonders why the transmission must be in park is simply because with automatic transmissions, when left in neutral, the internals will still turn, and without the vehicle running, the pump isn't pumping trans fluid to those internals, and will burn up the seals and internal components. but when in park, nothing spins, no worries of damage.
with the t case in neutral, all connection to the drive axles is in neutral and free spinning. the t case has no pump, and is designed to sling the fluid keeping everything inside the case well lubricated.

Actually, the t/case DOES have a pump, but it's just a fluid circulator, not a pressure pump and is driven by the output shaft which spins with the rear driveshaft anyway.

Those instructions are for flat towing. If you're going to use a dolly, the rear shaft MUST be removed of you'll burn up the viscous clutch!
