Brake lamp failure 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
Got my Jeep running after 2 years, fired right up. Received a message on the display "rear lamp failure". Running lights power on and reverse lamps do as well. When I step on the brakes no brake lamps power on. All three brake lamps are new.

Is your console telling you only when you step on the brake or when the lights are on?
There is a cable plug under the rear seat on the drivers side. Check for corrosion or broken wires. This is an area prone to rust because there is a plastic plug in the floor nearby.

Looking at my circuit diagrams, they show a "light outage module" in a connection in the left rear quarter panel. You might want to check ALL your connections. Otherwise, I haven't a clue. Sorry.
