Default Blower not very strong

Looking for advice on where to start diagnosing this issue. I just got done replacing the updated blower motor resistor and the strength of the air coming out of the vents, no matter which setting, is extremely slow. This was the same prior to replacing the blower motor resistor.

The blower does work on low, medium and high settings, and all in between. I also took out the blower motor and turned it on to see make sure it was working well, and it appeared to be really kicking out a strong wind.

Also, the different zones seem to work as well (floors, dash vents, windshield, etc), but all are consistently very week on the force of the air coming out. Any ideas on what a novice can try before bringing it in to a shop?

I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee, V8. Please let me know if you need any additional information and thanks so much.

Mike

i would look at your re-circ door, a lot of times they break and it can drop down and block your airflow,,,,you can do a search on how to check it!

I had a 97 ZJ with the same problem and was told it's a broken blend door blocking the blower output. I had a combination of floor heat and defrost so I didn't want to mess with it until I got the rest of the mechanical problems solved. Unfortunately, the rear axle blew and I parted it out. The blower sounded like a tornado trying to get thru a keyhole, with just enough power to keep the windshield sort of deiced.

My WJ (which is what you have) is working fine at 147K and they're telling me to speak softly because most of them don't by then. There is an aftermarket fix that involves cutting a hole in the heater case and installing a door with a metal shaft, then closing the hole. Search "blend door" on the website. Otherwise, you'll have to remove the dash to get into it.
