block , radiator hose, oil pan heater?
I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee with the 4.0 and I'd like to install a heater of some sort so I can plug it in when it drops well below 0° here in WI. What is the best type that's the easiest to install? Would mine have a frost plug heater from the factory? I keep forgetting to pop the hood and look before I wind up sitting here at work thinking about these types of things. Any help would be appreciated.

IMHO, a block heater is the most effective and easiest to install. This keeps the block and coolant at about 100* overnight. They don't come from the factory unless the original purchaser ordered it as a option. If it's there, you should find an AC line cord somewhere near the radiator. These units replace a "freeze" plug somewhere on the block.
Some people in extreme climates, like Alaska, use a heated battery wrap as well. You might want to go to a thinner synthetic axle lube. Normal 90 weight tends to gel at about -30* and doesn't lube very well until it liquifies.
I had block heaters on my 76 Datsun B210 and my 81 Chevy Citation. In the morning when I left for work, I'd flip on the heater and get instant warm air. Not hot, but not freezing either. Just remember to unplug it before driving away! Sounds stupid, but I did it once. I hadn't finished my first cup of coffee.
