Alternator for 99 GC 4.7L: Asking if I want it stamped "L3C" or "NCB1"

Does it make a difference? Can I check the vin to know? I was gonna go to a junk yard and pull it myself for cheaper but if I need a certain one then I guess I can't pull it myself on a random GC...

Can you see anything stamped on your original? Match it up and go from there.
