Most likely clockspring is bad.
I took them apart, there is a tape inside with electrical metal lines, it just break after awhile.
The only way to avoid it is drive w/o turns.
You have 2 choices:
you can pay somebody to find out air bag code or
just remove steering wheel, coil and check it by multimeter.
You need special tool to remove steering wheel, which about $15-20
Good news is that Dorman makes clocksprings for Grand, I think, and they are twice cheaper than Cherokee clocksprings on ebay.
