Default aftermarket radio into an Infinity equiped Jeep

Hey there peeps. I just bought a second GC 1996 Limited V8. It comes equipped with the Infinity system. The fella before me had an Alpine aftermarket in the Jeep but he removed it to keep. I am trying to install another aftermarket back into the Jeep. Once installed. I get everything but sound itself. I am sure it has something to do with the Infinity Factory amp itself. What do I need to do? I would rather not run new wires, but continue to use the factory setup if I could? Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. I did do a search, but did not find many good answers to my question.

Thanks in advance

Will this help? DCP-Wiring.pdf (application/pdf Object)
Or this? The Install Doctor - The Do-It-Yourself Car Stereo Installation Resource

I did look at those in my search. The past owner had left the wiring harness adapter in the truck so I am wired properly for sure. I am wondering if this may be a ground issue even...

It's hard to say. I'm not too familiar with radio/electrical issues. Did you check the fuse for the amp?

Yeah the system worked when the old owner removed the radio, and I did check all fuses, so... I am kind of at a stand still here, and hoping other may have an idea what the problem may be.

Thanks for all the help so far though.

OK update. I have checked all fuses (good) and there is power to the amp located under the Driver rear seat. All grounds test good, and I know this radio works as I plugged it into my 98 GC Laredo so this has to be a compatibility issue with the factory amp I am guessing?????

I just thought of something. The new system I am trying to install is a SONY Mp3 HU but this unit can not be use with an amp there are no RCA inputs or outputs, so this system does not have a remote wire. Could you use a 12 volt ignition source to power up the amp or is that to much voltage??

was just going to say had the same problem and on the plug all you had to do is make sure the purple power antenna is just wired to the yellow acc wire.
