Aftermarket Keyless Entry kits for a 2002 Grand Cherokee Laredo

I need some help with which aftermarket keyless entry to get for my 2002 Grand Cherokee Laredo. Previous owner lost both key fobs so all have is a key.

I bought a factory replacement key fob but the locksmith could not get it to program even though it had the right fcc number.

I was looking at this kit on amazon:

I am open to any other kits that are known to work well and easy to wire in. I don't want to get all involved with this. I just need something simple and easy that will last.

JMHO, but I think the easiest way out is to get 2 keys and fobs programmed by the dealer. That way there is no rewiring involved and you know they'll work. Then trash your original key. BUT, it's your jeep. Do what you want.

I bought a fob from a dealer and they programmed it for me on my 99 XJ same deal no fob when I got it, didn't know I even had it till I got the buils sheet.

Just go to a dealer.

I understand it would probably be better to go to the dealer but I already called them about the oem fob I bought and wanted them to program it. They kind of ticked me off when they said since I did not buy it from them that they would still charge me $60 bucks if they could not get it to work since I did not buy it from them.

I thought what a bunch of crooks. So I don't really want to buy a fob from the dealer. They would probably charge me out the wazoo for it.

So back to my original question, can anyone recommend a good aftermarket keyless entry kit that is low cost and easy to install?

It was given to you now you want the expensive way is that what you asking now? If its worth doing, do it right!

All these systems run thru the PCM and BCM. You start messing around with aftermarket crap, you're just asking for trouble.

I will call the stealership and get a price on a fob and programming. Will report back.
