99 WJ wheel questions.
Xj guy getting a wj as a DD here few questions for you grand Cherokee guys out there.
1. Bolt pattern and rim size? Same as xj? Or 5x5.5 and 16"?
2. Biggest tire size you can fit stock? Biggest you can fit with 2" spacer lift?
3. I want to run either wheel spacers or offset runs to give it a more aggressive look. Will either work without lifting the jeep? Thanks!!

1. The bolt pattern is larger than the older Xj and ZJ. I'm not sure what the actual figures are at this moment, but the 99's are larger. They went to 16's to clear the larger brakes. My 97 ZJ had brand new tires on it when it s*** the bed and I wanted to swap them to my WJ. NFW.
IMO, do not use wheel spacers because you will overstress to wheel bearings. The original wheels are designed to place wheel loading over the center of the bearings.
My 00 WJ has the optional 245/70R16's on it and they just about fill the wheel well. The overall dia. is 29.5". I have one loose plastic liner because of snow pack already.

The wheel bolt pattern is the 5x5.5. Stock ride a 245 tire will fit and but may rub during turns or mud and snow pack. Do not use wheel spacers, your wheel bearings will thank you.

so what do you guys think is my best option, go with a tire size smaller then the 245 and get some offset rims so i dont rub? or stick with the 245's and toss some spacers on the jeep for a 2" lift. this is my DD so i dont want to do anything severe to it just want it to look somewhat aggresive.

IMPO, do a proper 2" lift and use some aggressive 245's. I have the General Grabber AT2's on mine and have already had comments. I will probably do a 2" lift in the spring because I don't like working under a car in the snow! There are many different tires available and choice is a personal thing.

My WJ is the Basic model. It is my understanding that the Upcountry suspension on the Orvis models is a factory 2" lift. I'm not sure about this, but that's what I've been told.
