99' Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited V8 4.6L 185K Maintenance
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a 99' Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited V8 4.6L with about 185K miles on it. It is all in working order and runs well, except the blend door that I am replacing this week. It came from someone who took good care of it and towed it behind an RV quite a bit. It doesn't get the best MPG (I already expected that with the V8) and the M.T.E is always depleting quite a bit after it is turned off then back on (goes down about 50 miles each time you turn it off then on). My Ford that has the same size engine seems to get better gas mileage. Are there any recommendations to help increase the gas mileage and additional maintenance I should look into doing since it is getting towards that 200K mark?

Welcome to CF!
I would just change ALL the fluids, including the brake fluid and differentials, transfer case, and transmission. Check the cooling system for being clean and proper coolant, radiator hoses, cap, serpentine belt, cooling fan for proper function. Look at the steering linkage joints and control arm bushings for looseness and wear. Check the front hubs, shocks, and sway bar links.
That ought to keep you busy for a while.
