1996 grand cherokee aftermarket stereo installation issues
I have a 1996 Grand Cherokee Laredo and we are having to replace the stock stereo. Got an after market wiring harness and connected up everything, it all looks good except there is a two wire connector CCD that has no obvious connections. Stereo powers up and appears to be good, but no sound. Does anyone have suggestions for the CCD (+) AND (-)?

CCD is Chrysler Collision Detection. Is this connector on the vehicle or stereo side?
You have an aftermarket stereo? Then it's instructions dictate the installation.
Basically you are going to have: constant power, switched power, ground, illumination, and speaker wires. Those first four wires listed will probably be yellow, red, black, and orange. Could be different. You say you have power though, and I assume you have the speaker wires properly connected.
I'd check your stereo manual. Do you need to specify which output it uses? Are you absolutely sure something is actually playing?

Do you have the Infinity Gold stereo system? If so, you might've forgotten to connect the amplifier turn-on wires (which is usually blue) in both aftermarket wiring harnesses. Without that connection, the factory underseat amplifier in the rear won't even receive a signal to turn on when the radio is switched on, and therefore power up the factory speakers. That "wiring" is actually circuitry built-in to the factory radio that sends the turn-on signal.
@Hatsuwr, there isn't an illumination wire for the aftermarket stereo. The factory dimming control doesn't work with the aftermarket radio. You'll have to use the aftermarket radio's built-in dimming feature. There's also no grounding connection on the provided wiring harness that plugs into the factory wiring harness, so you have to take the black grounding spade that hooked onto the metal tab on the back of the factory radio, cut off that spade, strip the wire back, and connect that wire to the connection indicated as 'Ground' in the aftermarket wiring harness.
