97 ZJ Loud klunk from front end?

Hello and thanks in advance,
Lately when driving I hear a loud klunk from the front end, never at highway speeds but usually on the street and neighborhood driving, it happens in 2 wheel drive and Fulltime 4x4, its hard for me to narrow down since I can't seem to find any pattern it just happens randomly. I put my ZJ up on jack stands and put in R/N/D/2/1 and nothing then I gave gas for a while and still nothing did the same in all 4x4 modes and nothing, I'm stumped.

Check your sway bar links. I've had to change mine on my 98 GC and they will klunk when bad.

When you hear the noise gently apply the brakes. If the noise goes away it means the front brake pads are rattling. That could be caused by worn caliper bushings, or worn spots on the steering knuckles, or both.

My 98 XJ had the same thing.
