Default 97 zj AWD

This is my first AWD not sure how it work when does power go to front wheels..would it have posi in the front and back

no posi, when the rear wheels spin, it sends power to the fronts.

It's not AWD it is full time 4wd essentialy the transfercase acts like a limited slip differential allowing torque bias to front/rear via viscous coupler in the 249 t-case ...early model 249 93-95 had no locking lo range so your t-case was limited slip hi/lo great if you drive in 4lo on pavement ,but lame offroad ...95+ has lo lock so 50/50 torque split always obviously no pavement driving in lo if expecting to turn the steering wheel ...I welded the VC on my 95 ZJ 249 ...B/C I was cheap ...lol
