97 zj 5.2 limited...starting issues
 
I turn key to starting position I don't have power to the gauges but dash lights work...I turn key to start all it will do is crank but will not start..I put foot on brake pedal gauges come to life so with foot on brake still I turn over and it starts runs, take foot off brake it kills out no gauges and cuts out...my e-brake light on dash stays on....I'm trying to figure out what's going on so it can be inspected... Any help is appreciated....

Welcome to the forum.

The most essential tool for the vehicle is the correct Factory Service Manual (FSM). It is required to have this document, as either the bound printed volume or as the PDF. I like to have both. It contains a complete and reasonably accurate wiring diagram, including connector diagrams and wiring layout.

Start with disassembly, inspection, cleaning and reassembly of all power and ground connections, after removal of the battery negative terminal.

Then proceed to visual inspections of all the wiring, including the back side of the power distribution fuse panels.

The last and most tedious step is following / verifying the wiring diagram through the vehicle.
