97 Grand... Laredo Noise in front, ALL Parts are good or replaced.
Hey Guys!
New to the forum and I am SO HAPPY to find it.
We have a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo for over 10 years!
Like many of you, I will sell off something else before the jeep goes ANYWHERE!
I have a BURNING issue I would SO LOVE to take care of!
The jeep on occasion makes a noise from the front right, I had the ENTIRE front
end checked, I replaced parts that needed replacing but, there is still a noise in
the front.
What can it be?
Thanks
PS. I FINALLY PUT ON A THRUSH MUFFLER!!! I LOVE THE SOUND!!!

More info is needed. Does it happen: all the time; during braking; turning- more one way than the other; accelerating in 4WD; when hitting bumps; these are answers that will help us try to figure out your problem.

More when a bump is hit (does not have to be a big hole either) you will hear a rattle/thug from the right front.

If it doesn't, it could be a loose shock, worn/damaged control arm bushings, worn tie rod end, bad hub bearing, even loose lug nuts. JMO

You also can look at ball joints. I agree totally with the shock bushings. The stock bar pin does not put pre-load on the bushing. JKS Bar pin eliminator squeezes the bushing from the outside. Here is a little write up I wrote on another site http://ultimatejeep.proboards.com/in...ead=903&page=1 . This dramatically reduced my front end noise and tightened up the handling.

I will get onto that ASAP!
I guess I should change the shocks while I am in there huh?
Where can I get the parts?

Pardon me but the little caps in the center are called..."Center Caps". Sometimes the clips on the back of them become loose and they rattle.

you are correct, but there is absolutely no way the 2 inch plastic cap will make loud thumps unless, of course, I am misunderstanding something here.

Front end left side noise
Looks like the noise did not go away... I have been trying to find the noise for the past few days with no luck. The noise is heard when going over a bump, like a thug. Had it to several garages and they can't find anything. Any ideas will be greatly appreciate it.

could be the internals of the shock making noise, I have heard brand new shocks that made a noise similar to that due to something not being made right.
