Hi Folks

Just changing my water pump on my 97 Grand Cherokee 5.2 litre and I wanted some opinions as to if I should change the bypass line at the same time? The manager at Autozone says the water pump does NOT have to be removed to replace the bypass line but the entire bracket that hold the a/c, alternator, etc DOES have to be removed. I think he may be right because I took out all the bolts for the a/c compressor and lifted it back as much as I could and there is still no way to get to the bypass line without taking off that whole bracket and a bunch of stuff that I may have a hard time remembering how to put back together. Has anyone here done one of these pumps and bypass lines? Can I just change the pump and keep the same bypass line for now?

Also, the metal tube (heater tube?) that goes into the water pump only came with one small rubber o ring yet on the metal pipe that inserts into the pump, there are two grooves for an o ring. What groove does the supplied o ring go in? Thanks for any help. Take care.
