Im totally new to jeeps and just got a 97 grand cherokee 5.2 v8. It has cv front axle and driveline and was told to swap them to a u joint. So i got a u joint axle and driveline off of a 94 grand 4.0. I got the new axel and drivline almost in but seems like the driveline is to long to let the axle come to where it needs to be to bolt up. So now i am stuck and have no clue what to due. A friend said it might be cause of my 249 t case, Any idea or help on what to do? not sure if it matter but i put a 3.5 lift on it as well. Thanks.

Are you swapping out the driveshaft cv to u-joint or axle shafts?

I swapped the whole front axle and driveshaft to u joint, my old was cv. so i complety took off the old axle just to put a new one in

You may have some binding issues when using ujoint axle shafts with an awd transfercase when turning.

It is because the driveshaft comes from a 4.0 and you have a 5.2! Different engine length, different driveshaft length.
