96 zj Misfires and massive rumbling PLZ HELP!

So i have a 96 grand Cherokee limited. Check engine light is on because it has 'multiple misfires'. so i replaced my Spark Plugs, SP wires, Distributor cap and rotor but still didn't fix it.(ignition coil checked out to be good) Also when i turn the wheel past a certain point it knocks(can feel it in the wheel and hear it). When i get up to about 45mph it starts to rumble BUT only when i accelerate. Could this be a tie rod problem? (wheel feels loose, has a lot of play) Does anyone know what this could be? I am stumped and need this fixed fast or i am gonna die on the highway. ANY advice would be helpful.

Do you have the 6 or 8 cylinder? The misfire definatly needs a proper diag but if its BAD you should be able to locate fairly easy.
1)Does it misfire at idle in park, or run smooth
2)Do you hear any snapping sounds while running from under the hood?
3)If neither above, assuming it only then gets a missfire under load
Definatly need to check for any signs or arcing. Maybe recommend using a spray bottle with water, on mist and spray down all wires, coil and dist cap. You may be getting an arc somewhere causing the bad shaking under load while drive.
This is silly also but make sure the cap is on straight and make sure the rotor was the correct size and not striking the inside of the cap while its running.

V8 5.2 it does idle rough in park which is why I dont think it is tie rods. runs smoothly untill i hit about 45 then rumbles when i accelerate (pedal depressed about half way). but at those high speeds if I let go of the gas or push it down fully the rumbling stops. I have checked for arching at night and saw nothing. Any other suggestions would help so please reply with anything.

do u know the death wobble?

back to the ignition issue...I know this may sound silly but were all the wires but back to the correct cylinders? Did you cross any? Did anyone play around with this before you got it?

I haven't checked the 02 sensor how do I or can you? Pretty sure it isn't the death wobble because it will happen on smooth roads and a pothole or bump doesn't set it off. And I don't think I messed up the wires because i removed them one at a time but will double check. Any other reasons this could be happening? Any suggestions are helpful!

Misfiring can be due to a lot of things.....but your 02 sensor is plugged into your exhaust. You can unplug it and see what it does. Your timing could just be off possibly

hmm thats a good one, Try driving it up to about 50 when its rumbling the worst and kick it into neutral and see if it stops or still runs bad. Also try to see where in the RPM range it kick's in and out under part throttle you say it starts at 45 but what RPMs are you at. Because you said it go's away at full throttle the o2 sensor may be sending false signals to the pcm about how much fuel is in the system. At full throttle the computer kicks into a pre programmed fuel trim.

Sounds like O2 sencer to me also. The knocking in the steering is probably bad u-joints at the wheels.

well i got it up to 50 and popped it into neutral and the rumbling went away and it came back when i put it back into drive. Also the RPMs are anywhere from like 1300 to 2200 if that is any help. So it is either my o2 sensor or my timing? Any other ideas would be helpful so i can finally track this problem down!
