Is there any way to install a disable switch for the overdrive on a 96 JGC. It has a 4.0 without a tow package. I added a factory hitch and noticed problems maintaining speed on expressway when pulling my quads.

i dont know if g/c have a 3rd on the shifter but thats what my xj has.. i always wheel and tow in 3rd..

My '97 ZJ has a button on the dash that when pushed lights up and dis-engages overdrive. It's labeled "OD".

you should have 3rd gear on the shifter or a o/d switch like ol blue stated. my owner manual states NOT to TOW in overdrive.. could be differnt you have a g/c..

The manual states not to tow in OD for both my '97 ZJ 5.2L & my '04 WJ 4.7L.

Mine is a 96 Grand and the OD is on the dash... V8 tho..

So is my '97 ZJ's, but my WJ's is on the left side of the shifter.

on my 5.2L ZJ (94 JGC) I have an O/D off button on the dash (right side of the wheel, just below the rear defrog button)

and my shifter is
