Default 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Stalling

Ok so I see this is a very common problem in jeeps but with many different solutions. I have read a bunch of different fourms and i really dont have the money to throw parts at it. Well here it is. It started about two weeks ago and is getting worse. Some days it runs with no problems and other days you can barley drive it. while driving the engine will cut out for a quick second and keep going, sometimes it will cut out for a couple seconds and than contine going, once in a while it will stall completely at all different times it will stall sitting at idel, costing to stops or running down the freeway most of the time it will start right back up, but once in a while you have to give it gas while starting, and yesterday morning it would start fine I would put it in drive and every time i would give it gas it would die, but you could rev it up in nutral, let it sit for a couple hours and it ran fine again. also the one other problem i am having that i have not seen anyone else metion is while driving the gas light will come on and te gauge will drop to E when it has 3/4 of a tank and than jump back up after a few secs but no engine power loss is felt at that time. I have changed the fuel filter, plugs, cap, roter, checked the connection for the fuel pump at the tank and unpluged and repluged all 3 ecm connectors. I have seen a lot of people say the crank sensor but some say no i really dont have the $60 to waste if thats not it. Also I have done the ignition on off 3 times and only get start and end codes. Any Ideas

I have the same thing with the gas gauge. When I went to checkers and borrowed the scanner this code popped up which sounds like what is your problem as well. P0463 Fuel level Sensor A Circuit high Input
I would pull the codes to see what comes up

I would pull out your chilton's and figure out how to test the individual sensors, each one is different. Just because it is not throwing a code doesn't mean it is functioning in it's optimal range.

I would start with you TPS sensor. They go out of range routinely. I was having a stange sputtering at different times which cleared up. My first was a new mopar one which lasted me 3yrs. I just replaced it again 2mo ago with a $15 JY one

Had similiar problem with my 95 Cherokee. I was told it was the electronic distributor. I'm not a mechanic so whether this was actually the case or not I have no idea but it fixed the problem.
