Default 95 ZJ Won't start

I'm looking to buy a 95 Limited ZJ, with a 318. I work with the owner of the truck, and have been helping him to get it running again prior to buying it. Here's what we've done so far.

1. Disable the security system by grounding the purple/yellow wire at driver's kick panel. The security system was causing a problem, so once we got it shut off, we disabled it. When the security was acting up, it would allow the truck to fire, but not run more than a second or so.

2. Once we got the security bypassed, we'd hafta crank on it a bit to get it to start, but once she was fired up, she ran great. I could shut it off, and attempt to start immediately, but would hafta crank on it again to get it started. Fuel pressure gauge indicated low pressure. A new fuel pump cured that problem, and perfection was achieved.

3. Once it was running right, Kevin decided to remove the dash to fix (replace) one of the HVAC doors that wasn't working, causing all the air to blow out at the feet. Since he had the dash out, he went ahead and replaced the heater core.

4. Upon getting the dash reinstalled, the truck won't start and run now. It'll start for a second, on ether, then die. Hooking up a voltage meter to the wiring harness at the tank shows voltage to the tank for a second, then drops to nothing. We've tried swapping the fuel pump relay, tried jumpering the relay, but it refuses to stay running. Hooking a fuel gauge up shows it builds proper fuel pressure.

Could the security system be causing a problem here? Kevin said he turned the switch to the run position, then disconnected the battery in order to get the center console out. Could this be interfering in any way? Kevin said there is one wiring connector he couldn't find a mate to when he put the dash back in, but it looked like it had never been hooked up. He said it's long enough to reach the radio area, or to the left of the steering column.

I would say it is most likely the security system causing the problem.

Is there a way to completely remove it?
