Exclamation 95 zj no brakes!

Working on my 95 ZJ. It had been sitting for two years before I bought it. I went to move it and NO BRAKES! The pads are fine all the way around and so are the rotors. Fluid is also fine. The pedal is stiff with almost no play in it and I literally have to stand on it just to keep the damn thing from rolling. Any thoughts?

I'd start by gravity bleeding it. Starting at the RR then LR, RF, LF. Open the bleeder until brake fluid hits the ground, then close the bleeder. Make sure and keep the master full. Move to the next wheel and so on. See what it feels like after that.

That's kinda what I was thinking too. Yes the e-brake does work... pretty well actually.

The vacuum booster is the problem, bleeding is a waste of time. If you had a solid pedal, there is no air in the system. Pump the brake pedal about ten times, now with your foot on the pedal start the engine. The pedal should drop a little, if it does not, you have a bootser problem.

Thats exactly what happens. I forgot to mention that earlier. oops. the pedal doesn't move when the engine is running like it normally would. I look into the booster. Thanks

Great you got them fixed. And thanks for the up-date rather than letting us keep wondering.
