95 Grand Cherokee Ltd. V8 thermostat
My Grand Cherokee's been overheating since the heat's up (Vegas temperature's averaging about 110 right now). Checked the coolant levels and fan, both seem fine, so i'm thinking that the thermostat is the next most obvious solution. Problem is, i can't find the thing. I've followed the hoses from the radiator and nothing that looks like the images i've found online is there. Couldn't find an image or description of the v8 specifically so i'm wondering if it's a little different somehow. Can anybody help me with a picture, diagram or good description of where it is on a 95 v8? Any advice is very much appreciated. Getting tired of driving with the heater on in the desert Thanks

The 5.2L V8 thermostat is located in a housing on the top front of the engine where the upper radiator hose attaches. After draining the coolant, remove the two bolts that attach the housing, then remove the housing. If it's stuck, tap it with a soft faced hammer to break the seal. Clean thoroughly before installing to avoid leaks.
It calls for a 195* t-stat.
