95 GC Driver power window troubleshoot
My 95 Grand Cherokee's driver side power window stopped when in the closed position last week. Note: I have 184k miles and have always P/M's the thing. It does not appear to be related to the fuse, as all other windows operate. I tried having someone push downward when attempting to open - no sound, nothing.
Could this be the switch? I just dropped 1,700.00 on this baby and I want to get at least another year out of it. I'm trying to avoid the 80 something dollar fee associated with diagnostics. Any help is greatly appreciated! |
Common issue on the ZJ's. Usually a cracked/broken wire/s in the rubber boot and harness as it runs into passenger compartment near lower hinge.
Pull the boot back and look for offending wires.. it's a bit tough and cramped to do so. Might need to remove interior kickpanel as well. Good Luck.. |
Thanks.... but, what's "ZJ's"?
As a newbie, I've gotta ask. :)

ZJ= 93-98 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Just a model designation. |
