93 Grand Cherokee Tcase and gearing questions
Hey guys. So I have a couple things... Firstly, I have a 93 Grand Cherokee, 4.0 with the full time 4x4 tcase. I want to remove the fulltime 4x4 Tcase and put in one of the regular ones (2hi 4hi n 4lo) is that a bolt on type of deal or will I need to change a bunch of other crap?
And I want to re-gear the front and rear diff's. What would be the best gearing to put in there? I don't do much off roading. But I do want to be able to run larger tires. Maybe 35's.
Thanks guys

A 231 from a 93 ZJ will bolt right in. 35 inch tires with a Dana 35 is just asking for trouble if you take it off road.

As long as you're not putting your gas pedal through the floor pans, D35+35" tires doesn't immediately spell "grenade". I have the 5.2 V8, a Dana 35, and 35" goodyear wranglers and I haven't destroyed mine in the mountains yet.

True, as long as you don't drive like you have a canned ham for a foot the D35 will be ok for light wheeling on 35s.

Another ? for you...
What are the pros and cons of buying a 3" shock and spacer "budget" lift kit vs one of the 400-500 dollar kits that come with shocks springs and a bunch of parts? Obviously you get what you pay for, but I just want to know if there will be any major issues if I get the cheap one....
