Default 93 GC V8...mystery coolant leak near firewall

Title pretty much says it...its on the drivers side of the front wheel...so pretty far back. Happened a few times, enough to lose a lot of coolant over a few days(had to refill about 1 qt) then just stopped...

more or less in the middle of the car, but with the damn Borg cube engine in the GC, its impossible to see where it's coming from, or where it might be spilling onto before it drips out.

I certainly didn't fix anything, I have no idea where the leak is--or was...since now it no longer leaks. But obviously this needs to be tracked down.

Any ideas?

thanks.

What motor do you have ? It could be freeze plugs of intake gasket!

If you get a cooling system pressure tester from the auto parts store any external leaks will be evident. With the engine off and cooled down so there is no pressure in the system, attach it to the radiator, pump it up to your systems pressure, then look for any leaks. Also watch the gauge on the tester to verify there is a leak.

It could be a heater hose, loose/bad hose clamp, heater control valve, intake gasket, or freeze plug.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give the pressure tester a try. I've had a few trip in it since, over 200 miles and no leaks anymore... no clue why it started or stopped.
