Default 42re swap

Hello i have a 93 zj with the 4.0, 42re, np249 combo. My question for the experts is my trans is bad i found a good 96 zj with 4.0, 42re, np242 combo am i going to have any trouble swaping these two. Im going to do the trans and t-case so i dont have to gut the t-case just wondering if everything will basicly bolt right up and plug right in. Thanks for any info any and all i can get is helpful.

I think your gonna be ok. Make sure you get the torque converter and the flywheel off the other Jeep. There was a bolt pattern change on the torque converter.

Might want to see about the driveshafts as well..

And are you absolutely sure you have a 42re? The early 93's used an AW-4... easily identifiable by the 1-2 shift position.

I believe '93s used a separate TCM, but the '96s were controlled by the PCM. Will the sensors be the same?

I can't answer that positively. I'd think you should use the sensors that go with the vehicle. JMO though.
