I have a 4.7 it has been pretty reliable and good but I've heard lots of great things about the HO so it's really all about your preference

I have the 4.7 H.O. in my 2002 Overland.Seems to me if you start with more horsepower and torque your ahead of the game. when it comes to mods.

Yes as far as ive seen on engine swaps between jeeps from the years 99-04 as long as its a 4.7 should bolt up right to the same tranny and you can even boost it up to a 5.7 or a 5.9 but with those blocks you don't get the same compaqed power as the 4.7 or th HO. And if you did go with the larger 5.7-5.9 you would have to bust out the fire wall and move the whole assembly back. But yes to awnser your original qestion the 4.7ho will bolt right up to the regular 4.7 tranny and mount points.

Good, I was wanting to go to a 5.7 but its more work than I want to get into. Ill just stick with the 4.7 for now.
