4.0 oil leak question???

Default 4.0 oil leak question???

The part my oil filter spins on to leaks between that part and the block.I'm not sure what it's called.Is this an easy fix?Thanks

It's the oil filter adaptor. There is an o-ring behind it. There is a bolt in the center of it that you have to take loose to remove it. It could be an allen head bolt or torx head. I have heard some say one and some the other. Mine was an allen. It was very very very tight. I had to stand on my ratchet to get it loose.

there is more than one o-ring here are the part numbers 33003970 33003971 33003972

Yeah, I guess I should have went into more detail there. The guys at the dealership parts counter should know that you need all of the parts. As stated, there are like 3 o-rings there. Yours is probably the large one. That seems to be the most common. But, while you have that beast off, replace all of them.
