3 buttons on the door?
Hey I just got a '97 Limited and it has these three buttons on the door that say "1" "2" and "set". I have no clue what they are for my '93 Limited didn't have them. If any one knows what they are for it would be greatly appreciated "starting to wonder if James Bond was a previous owner and I shouldnt touch them lol"

they are your power seat memory ... in park you put your seat where you want it and hit set and the number. that way if someone else drives your car you don't have to worry about trying to find your spot again.

yep thats power seat and you have space for two settings. itll do your mirrors too however i find it will always screw up the mirror settings they point directly at the ground. i don't think its just a jeep think though... ive never seen a memory mirrors setup work quite right so just be mindful

As stated before, it's for the Memory system. The remote entry key fobs had numbers #1 & #2 on the back of them. It controls the radio pre-sets, rear view mirror settings, and power drivers seat adjustment settings, after these were set. When starting the truck, the settings would change according to which numbered remote key fob was being used. If you don't use, or don't have, the corresponding #ed key fob, you have to manually select the desired button.
As stated about the mirrors pointing at the ground, that should only happen when first taken from Park to Reverse, to see the ground when backing up. When the outside mirror has a problem it will move up and down rapidly upon startup in small amounts for a few seconds, stopping at a random spot, sometimes pointing at the ground. There's a write up on how to fix this, but I lost it when my computer crashed. Now I've got this crappy lap top. |
